Steyoyoke kicks off with a bang! Here we have our first release by I’m fine and Antonio Olivieri, a solid three track, floor-friendly blowout. ‘If I Were Music‘ is an EP that firmly establishes the label as one to watch out for in 2012.

The EP kicks off deep and atmospheric with the title track ‘If I Were Music‘: swirling synth pads and a low-slung bass line create a moody, classic deep-house journey. As the title of the 2nd track rightly suggests, ‘Your Ghost‘ provides a fabulously haunting dance-floor experience, blending smokey vocal hooks with an enchanting bass line. An equally strong closing track comes in the form of ‘Do Not Care‘, a deep, catchy and driving floor-filler.

It comes as no surprise that the EP has had some unprecedented feedback, and we are thankful to some great artists such as Robert Owens, Lauhaus, Federicho Locchi and Paul Mad showing support.

The EP is available on a limited Vinyl release from today so be sure to get your copy of this fine pressing, available at our SHOP.

Celebrating the release of ‘If I Were Music‘, the label will also be throwing their first party in March, showcasing all of Steyoyoke talent as well as Crosstown Rebel star Matthew Styles and Made to Play‘s, Prince Club sharing the line-up. Weekly Skype Report #001

Steyoyoke Skype Report

First of all we need to thank you guys for the enthusiasm and all the beautiful words you spent on us. We didn’t expect all of this response and as of the first Skype meeting, after only one week, we got really good demo tracks and new great ideas.

Cody Avant, a marketing student from Atlanta, chose Steyoyoke for his marketing communication research. He said: “I chose Steyoyoke for my passion for this industry and the consistent artistic direction. Compared to other indie Berlin house labels like Minimal Kidz, it is seen that Steyoyoke has a clearer image and a more consumer-friendly outlook.”

We got great demo tracks from Alexander Valentijn and Tom Koch, who said: “I want to compliment you guys. really love the idea to interact with the listeners!”

At the end, we got something really special from a Russian guy who lives in Rome. He sent us 7 wonderful tracks and we will probably release 3 of them. Something amazing is coming.
